Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, tiered framework used in Schmitt to improve academic and social behavior outcomes. It focuses on proactively teaching and reinforcing positive behavior rather than relying on punishment, aiming to create safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments. PBIS is not a curriculum, but it is a framework to identify needs, develop strategies, and evaluate practice toward building a positive school culture.
