Principal's Message
Welcome to Schmitt Elementary—Home of the Proud Schmitt Lions!
We are excited to begin the 2025–2026 school year, continuing our mission to empower tomorrow’s leaders. At Schmitt, our Lion Pride shines through in everything we do as we model the qualities of ROAR: Respectful, Organized, Accountable, and Resilient.
This year, we are deepening our commitment to leadership development through Leader in Me and the 7 Habits, helping students grow as confident, capable leaders both in and out of the classroom. We are also focused on building strong foundational skills in English Language Arts and Math, ensuring all students are equipped with the tools they need to succeed academically.
At Schmitt, we believe in the power of partnership. Staff, parents, and the community work together to support student achievement and a positive school culture. We’re proud to be a Title I funded school and, with the support of our amazing PTA, we provide all basic school supplies for our students. However, classroom donations are always appreciated. If your child has preferred supplies, they’re welcome to bring them from home. We also encourage students to bring a reusable water bottle, we have a filtered refill station on campus.

Our school office opens Monday, August 18th, from 7:30 AM–4:00 PM. We will have Spanish and Vietnamese translators on-site to assist with registration and data confirmation starting on Tuesday, August 19th.

Back to School Meet the Teacher Night is Monday, August 25th. Classroom assignments will be posted at 5:00 PM, with a parent meeting in the MPR at 5:00 PM, and classroom visits from 5:30–6:30 PM.
